The McCallum Park Upgrade is a comprehensive redevelopment project covering a 16,000m² footprint, aimed at enhancing recreational facilities, improving infrastructure, and creating a vibrant community space. The project includes demolition of existing facilities, extensive bulk and detailed earthworks and landscaping. Key recreational features include a 930m² BMX pump track, a 300m² junior scoot track, and a 2,300m² skate bowl and plaza, providing diverse activity spaces for users of all skill levels.
Infrastructure upgrades will include subsurface stormwater drainage, pits, and ACO drains for improved water management, along with electrical works such as SMSB upgrades, new sports lighting, an upgrade to existing lighting, and precinct lighting for enhanced safety and visibility. Hard landscaping will feature 1,300m² of footpaths and coloured concrete, tactiles, seating and wall elements, and handrails for accessibility. The soft landscaping scope covers 8,000m², with reticulation realignment and upgrades, new irrigation systems, and the preparation and installation of garden beds, turf, and a variety of trees and shrubs to create a green and inviting public space.
