Project Overview:
Full road reconstruction (1,061m2 ) of Irwin St in East Perth at 480 Hay St (Westin Hotel) due to significant pavement failure, delivered ahead of time to original tendered value. The project involved full pavement reconstruction on Irwin St, Hay St and Murray St and protection of the existing high pressure gas main along Irwin St.
Pavement construction was made up of 200mm limestone sub-base with 150mm crushed rock and 50mm wearing course laid on a single coat seal. BOS Civil also had to expose a high pressure gas main that ran the length of the street and install concrete protection slabs, as the gas main was not at a sufficient depth for the pavement construction over the top on behalf of ATCO Gas.
Reconstruction works were undertaken under a live traffic environment to maintain access to the District Court House for the prisoner transportation vans, and the Curtin university Law School.
